See better. Look perfect.

Do you find yourself holding that book out just a little further? Bringing it closer, then pushing out again?

Are you experiencing eye strain? Blurriness? Headaches?

Is it getting harder to see the street signs?

It’s okay to admit it. As you get older, your eyesight deteriorates.

If your eyesight isn’t what it used to be, relax, because you’re not alone.

There are many age-related conditions that can affect your eye-health:

– age-related conditions that affect all of us as we get older, and

– age-related conditions that we can easily fix with the right pair of prescription glasses or contact lenses.

There are also many serious eye diseases that show little or no symptoms, which is why regular eye consultations are so important if you’re serious about preserving your most vital of senses: your sight.

Can’t I just go to the chemist and buy a pair of glasses?

‘I am asked this question around five times a day,’ says Ian Donald. ‘That would work for a while for people whose eyes had exactly the same prescription. However, in most cases, prescriptions for each eye differs and it’s just not a good solution.

‘Also, you completely bypass your optical health. For example, with the very serious condition glaucoma, you rarely have any pain. Glaucoma is slow and progressive. You’d never know it was there unless you had a full eye examination.

‘Glaucoma is irreversible, and it can lead to total blindness.’

Your 7 steps to eye health

1. History and Symptoms

Congratulations, you’ve taken the first step towards seeing well!

We find out why you’re having your eyes examined, whether it’s a routine check-up or if you have any specific concerns you’d like us to address. We also need to know about your general health and any medications you are taking that might affect your eyesight.

2. Pre-Testing

This is where we use our state-of-the-art equipment to ensure we pick up any potential problems with your eye health.

3. Full Refractive Diagnostic Testing

Are you short-sighted or far-sighted? Do you have astigmatism? This is where we connect all the dots. We carry out a series of tests, both with and without your glasses or contacts, to assess your vision at a variety of distances.

4. Diagnosis and Recommendations

Now that we have a full understanding of the health of your eyes, including any changes in your vision and any specific requirements you might have, we can recommend the best form of vision correction to suit both your eyes and your lifestyle and guide you through all options for glasses and contact lenses.

5. Handover to Dispensers

This is the fun part! Our extensive range of fashionable glasses and sunglasses ensures you won’t feel self conscious about wearing glasses. If you need frames or lenses, our experienced dispensers assist you with finding the perfect pair to suit your lifestyle, your look, and your lens prescription.

6. The Perfect Fit

We’ll contact you as soon as your glasses are ready or your contacts are in store. Our expert dispensers will ensure your glasses fit perfectly and are totally comfortable, or that you’re fully confident with inserting, removing and cleaning your contact lenses.

7. Follow-up

There’s no need to worry about remembering to get your eye health checked. We’ll send you a reminder before your next appointment is due. However if you have any concerns or problems, just pop in or give us a call.

You will always receive excellent ongoing care.

We understand your vision needs

Your eye health changes as you get older. The lens of your eye becomes less flexible and less able to thicken. This makes it harder to focus on nearby objects, a condition called presbyopia.

Reading glasses or bifocal lenses can help you compensate for this problem.

Wearing glasses won’t speed up this deterioration in your vision. They’ll help you see better and prevent eye strain.

Quite simply, we help you see.

Our experienced team of optometrists and optical dispensers will ensure your eye health remains as optimal as possible.

We provide quality, ongoing care to every patient.

Whether you need to see us weekly, monthly or yearly, you can expect outstanding care every step of the way.

And we guarantee that once you’ve enjoyed the clarity of our prescription lenses…

…you certainly won’t want to use those chemist frames ever again!

Are you ready to take the first step towards great eye health?

‘People get addicted to the clarity. It’s life-transforming.’ Michael Kotow
