Ortho-K or corneal reshaping therapy (CRT) involves the wearing of specially designed contact lenses that reshape the cornea whilst you sleep. Overnight the contact lens rests gently on the cornea (front surface of the eye) which changes shape so that when the lenses are removed next morning you are able to see clearly throughout the day without glasses or contact lenses. It is used to manage myopia (short-sightedness) and small amounts of astigmatism.

Ortho-K is used to correct myopia up to -5.00 D and astigmatism up to -1.50 D depending on the shape of the cornea.

Ortho K is ideal for :

-sport and recreational activities especially water sports where contact lens wear may be unsuitable

- those with dry eyes issues from working on computers, in air conditioning or dusty environments

Ortho-K  is especially beneficial  for young   people that are becoming increasingly myopic [short sighted]. Ortho-K  has been shown to slow down and in some cases halt the progression of myopia.
